Princess the Dog needs a home

Princess is a 7 1/2 year old, 86# Lab mix who has found herself boarding at a Louisiana vet clinic after her owner passed away. She was nearly 100# when she first came into the clinic, so while she is still a chubby girl, she has lost some weight. What Princess needs is to be adopted into a loving home that can continue her diet and start her on an exercise plan. Princess is a happy girl with so much love to give. She knows how to sit (and learned down in 1 day – check out her videos!) and doesn’t pull too much on leash.  She is able to go on overnights with vet techs and she doesn’t have any potty accidents and sleeps quietly all night in her crate. She does well with other dogs but isn’t overly playful. She also ignores horses and cows. Princess mostly just likes lying right at (or on top of) her human friends’ feet. She spends her days leaning against the front of her kennel at the clinic, begging for treats, hugs and attention. She so deserves to be back in a home and would make a wonderful pet for most any family. Princess is spayed, heartworm negative and current on all vaccinations and heartworm/flea prevention. Senior dogs are the best dogs!  This special girl deserves to be back in a loving home ASAP!

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog.
